Sean Finch Academy of the Arts Poster

My name is Sean Finch, and I am currently a second-year Cybersecurity Major and Music Minor at Northeastern University.

Music has been a driving force in my life since childhood. I started playing piano in first grade and discovered my passion for singing as I grew older. Joining my school choir in eighth grade marked the beginning of my journey as a vocalist, a journey that continues to bring me immense joy, even as I strive to hone my skills.

Throughout my high school years at Fullerton Union High School, I immersed myself in various vocal groups, showcasing my talent and dedication. I was part of Bass Chorus for a year, Vocal Ensemble for three years, and the FUHS Fullertones for one year. Within these groups, I took on leadership roles, serving as the tenor section lead in Vocal Ensemble for two years and as the president of the FUHS Fullertones for one year. Additionally, I participated in prestigious choirs such as the SCVA Southern California Regional Honor Choir for three years and the CASMEC California All-State Honor Choir for two years.

Last year, I had the opportunity to expand my musical horizons by singing in the St. Mary's College of California Glee and Chamber Singers choirs as a visiting student, and as a member of the UC Berkeley University Chorus.

This year, I'm exited to continue my musical journey, singing in Northeastern University's Chorus and Chamber Ensembles under direction of Dr. Katherine Chan

In addition to my achievements in group settings, I've also found success on my own. I served as the Historian for the Tri-M Music Honor Society Chapter #7054 for one year, earned the Music Teachers' Association of California Certificate of Merit Level 5 in Piano, was nominated for Orange County Artist of the Year in Piano for 2023, and completed the Fullerton Union High School Academy of the Arts Choral/Vocal Track. Most recently, I received a scholarship for voice from Northeastern University's Music Department.
